I began this process proposing the following goals. However, since I have not seen much engagement, I will adjust my goals until I see more. I am including the altered goals in each section for clarity.
- Training & Professional Development
- Deliver neuroaffirming staff workshops and professional development sessions to at least 10 Saskatchewan school divisions within the first 3 years.
- Develop a tiered training program (introductory, intermediate, advanced) for ongoing staff learning.
- Altered Goal:
- Deliver at least one neuroaffirming staff workshop to one school in one school division within the first 3 years.
- Develop training material for staff learning on neuroaffirming practices.
- Consultation & Support
- Provide tailored consultation services for school divisions on inclusive policies and classroom practices.
- Offer coaching and mentorship opportunities for teachers seeking direct support.
- Altered Goal:
- Provide answers for school divisions on inclusive politicies and classroom practices, and recommendations for resources.
- Offer support to neurodivergent teachers on how to step forward into neuroaffirming leadership roles.
- Offer support to non-neurodivergent teachers on how to implement neuroaffirming practices in their classrooms.
- Resource Development
- Create accessible training materials, toolkits, and online resources for educators.
- Launch a digital resource hub by Year 2.
- Altered Goal:
- Create accessible materials for neuroaffirming practices for teachers.
- Advocacy & Community Engagement
- Partner with provincial education associations and advocacy groups to help promote neuroaffirming approaches.
- Host a Neurodiversity in Education Workshop in Year 3.
- Altered Goal:
- Work to create partnerships with provincial education associations and advocacy groups to help promote neuroaffirming approaches.
- Organize or participate in a Neurodiversity in Education workshop within the first 3 years.
- Sustainability & Growth
- Build a financially stable nonprofit with diverse revenue streams, including grants, contracts, and training fees.
- Expand collective membership by inviting more neurodivergent educators into leadership and delivery roles.
- Altered Goal:
- Establish a stable and engaged collective of neurodivergent educators in Canadian schools.
- Work on promoting psychological safety for neurodivergent educators to be willing to step forward and share their lived expertise with colleagues.
